A Look at Dishwashers from KitchenAid

Inside a dishwasher

KitchenAid introduced the world’s first home dishwashing machine in 1949 and has been producing top-quality dishwashers ever since. The next time you’re in an appliance store in Concord, you’ll be excited to see the latest that KitchenAid has to offer.

When you’re searching for home appliances, it’s always beneficial to consider what features you might need or want. This is certainly true when you buy a dishwasher, so it’s a good idea to be prepared when you start shopping.

  • KitchenAid produces dishwashers in three series: the Classic, the Superba, and the Superba EQ. Each series has a selection of models and options, which you can learn about in detail at your local home appliance store. No matter which series you choose from, you can expect results that are 25% better than the competition’s, based on combined wash and dry results of other brands' highest MSRP models.
  • All KitchenAid dishwashers are designed for energy efficiency and quiet operation. They feature specialized wash arms that spray water at high pressure, which leads to more effective cleaning. They are also the quietest dishwashers available: The Classic series operates at only 52 decibels (conversational speech registers at 60), while the Superba EQ boasts a mere 40. The EQ, by the way, stands for “exceptionally quiet.”
  • In terms of quality, a dishwasher from KitchenAid will always give high performance. They all have stainless steel tubs; adjustable, easy-glide dish racks; and one-hour wash cycles. Capacities range from 14 to 16 place settings, and the Superba EQ series has a third culinary tool rack. Some models have a heated dry option. The Superba and Superba EQ models can be equipped with the Pro-Scrub system, which is a set of water jets that eliminates baked-on food. The Superba EQ series also features soil sensors and a variable-speed motor so that each dishwasher uses just the right amount of water to clean each load. Other advanced features and options are available as well.

History of the Viking Range

You wouldn’t normally look at a home appliance and think of it as having a colorful and unlikely history, but that is precisely the case with the Viking range.

It all started with a fellow named Fred Carl, Jr. in the town of Greenwood, Mississippi in the early 1980s. He designed, as this video describes, a “big, hulking, fire-breathing, restaurant-style” range that people could use at home.

After being dismissed by manufacturers at the time, Fred Carl completed his designs with local help and perfected his massive stove by 1987. From there, his business took off. Greenwood, Fred’s beloved hometown, is now the manufacturing and corporate headquarters of the tremendously successful Viking Company. Watch this full clip to learn more!

If you live in Concord, California and are looking for an unbeatable stove, visit Friedmans Appliance. At our home appliance store, you can see the impressive Viking range in all its glory. Be sure to call us at (925) 265-8402 for specs on our Viking appliances.

Top Reasons to Equip Your Home with a Stand-Alone Freezer

Are your home appliances serving you in the best way possible? Are they energy efficient? Are they convenient and affordable to use? The next time you’re in a home appliance store, take a serious look at the stand-alone freezers. Installing one in your home could be an excellent investment.

  • A freezer can help you save money: People often reduce their grocery bills by storing large amounts of food they’ve purchased on sale or in bulk. Some shop at warehouse stores, while others take advantage of store sales and coupons. Those who live near farmers’ markets often buy large amounts of fresh produce and freeze it for later use. People with gardens will do the same with their home-grown vegetables. Still others will buy large amounts of meat from their local butchers and stock their freezers with it.
Stand-alone freezers are designed to maintain temperatures that are much lower than the freezer compartments in refrigerators. Because of this, nearly any type of food can be frozen and stored for months at a time. The U. S. Department of Agriculture has helpful guidelines for freezing foods safely and effectively.
  • A freezer saves you time: Many people like to prepare large dishes, like casseroles, and freeze them to use later when they have less time to cook. Others will prepare whole meals and store individual servings that can be reheated. Consider that having large amounts of food on hand also means fewer trips to the market.
  • New models are energy efficient: Look for the Energy Star rating or similar information when you’re at your neighborhood home appliance store in Concord. Many models include estimates of how much they will cost to operate over the course of a year. Over time, your savings on food will likely exceed the cost of the freezer, making it an excellent investment.

Save Money and Time on LG Front Load Washers

time is money

Are you spending large amounts of money to keep an old, inefficient washer running? If so, ditch the costs of repair and put your hard-earned money towards a top-of-the-line washer. Visit your trustworthy appliance store in Concord to find an LG front load washer and utilize its advanced washing technologies.

Capacity: Front load washers from LG provide unmatched capacity. The larger the capacity of your washing machine, the more clothes you can fit in a single load and the quicker your washing process will be. By designing a machine designated to wash larger loads, LG has effectively enabled people to take less trips to and from the washer.

TurboWash: LG’s TurboWash technology can save you up to 20 valuable minutes per load. Instead of searching to find large windows of time in your schedule to wash your items, you can have your clothes cleaned and ready in a short about of time. In addition, your energy bills will be reduced thanks to this more efficient cleaning technology.

TrueSteam: Are you looking to ditch your old washing machine because it simply doesn’t clean well? While some washers, particularly outdated models, leave grime and spots on clothing after multiple washes, LG’s TrueStream technology is designed to eliminate them the first time. Odors, wrinkles, and dirt will no longer be a factor, and your bills will be lowered as a result of more efficient washing technology.

ColdWash Technology: It’s often assumed that when you wash clothes on a cold setting, you’re bound to wind up with less clean clothes. However, LG’s ColdWash technology enables you to clean fabrics thoroughly on a cold setting while saving water in the process. This is just yet another way that LG can help reduce your bills and make your life more convenient.

Gas vs. Electric Wall Ovens

Built-in stainless steel electric oven

Regardless of whether you prepare meals frequently or only on special occasions, having the right oven is essential every time. Wall ovens, otherwise known as built-in ovens, are mounted on the wall and do not feature a range on top. If you’re looking for ways to maximize the space in your kitchen, consider a wall oven. When you pay a visit to your local appliance store in Concord in search of the perfect wall oven, you’ll be faced with deciding between a gas and electric oven.

Gas: Nowadays, the majority of wall ovens are electric. However, gas wall ovens can offer many benefits. First and foremost, if you’re looking to replace your existing gas oven, getting a new gas model may be ideal. Gas wall ovens also offer benefits in terms of the quality of cooked food. Whereas electric wall ovens require close attention to ensure that certain foods don’t dry out, gas wall ovens feature a convection fan and are far less likely to dry out food. If you’re the type of cook who likes to set a timer and come back for the food only when it’s completely done, opting for a gas wall oven may be the right choice for you.

Electric: Electric wall ovens are the most popular choice today. They offer a host of advantages to homeowners, including an ability to heat up quickly. This enables whoever is cooking to get going on meal preparation without waiting. Additionally, electric wall ovens are capable of cooking food quickly thanks to high speed fans that circulate moist, warm air. Because they can expedite the cooking process, electric wall ovens stand out as an ideal option for people who lead busy lives.

Find the perfect gas or electric wall oven for your Concord home by visiting your friends at Friedmans Appliance. We also offer a variety of other appliances, including barbeques, dehumidifiers, and front load clothes washers.
